Kay E. Kerr, Board Specialty Certified Paralegal, Family Law - Kay entered the legal field in September 1982, starting as a receptionist/bookkeeper. After several years, she began performing paralegal duties. In 1991, Kay was promoted to lead paralegal and office manager of a prominent law firm in downtown Fort Worth. Kay attended the University of Texas at Arlington Legal Assistant Certificate Program in 1994. In 1996, she became Board Specialty Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of Texas, which is the highest qualification a paralegal can achieve in he state of Texas (there are only 100 individuals in the entire state of Texas with this distinction). Kay is a Member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, Associate to the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, Member of the Marriage Dissolution 2007 Planning Committee, Speaker and Co-Author at Marriage Dissolution Institute Boot Camp 2007, El Paso, entitled “Happy Client’s Pay Bills” , Enhancing Your Legal Practice with the Attorney/Paralegal Team, and Member of the Marriage Dissolution 2008 Planning Committee. Kay began working for HOPPES & CUTRER in 2006. During thecourse of her career, Kay has worked on many a person's divorce and family law matters, from no property estates to cases involving multi-million dollar estates. She has built a rapport with many of the attorneys in Tarrant County, as well as the judiciary, who know that. Her word is her bond, and she has the credentials, ethics and devotion to her profession to have earned that trust. Kay will do everything within her charge to provide you with the best legal services, professionalism and understanding possible.
Kay has been married for 34 years. She has two children and one grandson. Kay rides motorcycles with her husband for fun. She has a 2003 Harley Davidson Road King. Kay was an officer of Fort Worth Harley Owner’s Group for nine years, and Director for the last two years. She was Volunteer Coordinator of the 2001 TEXAS HOG RALLY held in Fort Worth which had over 5,000 attendees. Kay is the current director of The Cowtown Riders Motorcycle Club. Girls just wanna have fun too!
Jean Roberts, Paralegal - Jean Roberts earned her Legal Assistant Certificate coupled with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in 1989. Interning for a prestigious Fort Worth Family Law attorney she was subsequently hired upon graduating. After a brief hiatus to stay at home with her son and work in the family business, Jean has obtained 16 years of experience in the Family Law field.
Jean is a member of the Tarrant County Family Bar Association and is a Notary Public for the state of Texas. Much of her legal experience was gained while serving as the lead paralegal on several multi-million dollar family law matters overseeing the case from the initial consultation to final resolution. Being detail and results-oriented with strong discovery, organization, and court preparation skills make her a valuable asset to both clients and the firm.
Jean prides herself in being able to effectively assist clients by combining her legal skills with a sensitivity to often emotionally difficult family law matters.
Her spare time is spent rooting for her son at his baseball games, gardening and snow skiing.
Leslie Hudler, Executive Administrator - From 1993 to 2001 Leslie was a Sales Assistant at Smith Barney, Inc., a financial firm near downtown Fort Worth. Work responsibilities and duties included opening new accounts, monthly payouts, operating a very busy switchboard, giving market quotes, incoming and outgoing mail, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and filing. In 2002-2003 Leslie worked as a Sales Clerk at J. C. Penney in North Richland Hills where she worked as a Customer Service Assistant.
From 2003 to 2006 Leslie was employed at ClayMation, Inc., a local video production company where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. Her office duties included organizing projects, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, answering the phone, invoicing and correspondence.
In October of 2006 Leslie came to work for Hoppes & Cutrer. Although she had not previously worked in any area relating to law,she has had many years experience in customer service, confidence and the skills required for the position. She has been with the team for two years and is continuing to learn more about Family Law every day.
Other activities Leslie enjoys are spending time with her two daughters, being at the lake, and attending nieces' and nephews' sporting events.
